Thank you for your interest in MCHA’s housing programs. We maintain waiting lists for our housing programs according to Federal Housing laws. You must complete the entire Pre-Application for the application to be valid. At the end of the application, you may print a confirmation receipt for your records.

The purpose of this online Pre-Application is to permit the MCHA to preliminarily assess your eligibility or ineligibility and to determine placement on the waiting list. Pre-Applications do not require interviews. Income information, family composition, preferences, accessibility and reasonable accommodation requests that you provide on the Pre-Application will not be verified by the MCHA until you have been selected for final eligibility determination. Final eligibility will be determined when the full application process is completed and all information is verified to the satisfaction of the MCHA.

Based on the information you provide, you will be placed on the "Pending" Waiting list until you reach closer to the top of the list. The bedroom size that you request may change during your wait due to the MCHA's occupancy guidelines. You may request to also be placed on a smaller list to increase your opportunities for housing, if your household size does not cause more than two persons per bedroom. PLEASE NOTE that if you do choose to accept a smaller bedroom size, you will not be permitted to request a transfer for a larger sized unit for at least one year after you move in.

Before you begin, you should have the names, dates of birth and Social Security Numbers available for all household members. You should also know the amount of income, assets and expenses for each household member. Please review our properties on our website before beginning the online application process to determine which property is best suited for you.

Important: To move from one step of the application to another, you must use only the buttons at the bottom of the application. (The Begin button is below. Other steps have Next, Back, Confirm, and/or Submit buttons at the bottom that allow you to go forward and back within the application.) Using ANY OTHER option, including right-clicking with your mouse and selecting Back or Forward, will cause an error and may force you to begin a new application.
